The Toni System steel guide rod replaces the factory guide rod and adds mass to the front of the firearm. It is a spare part intended for sports and practical shooting, where the consistency of the cycle and the repeatability of the return to battery affect the speed of realignment between shots.
The body is machined from steel and weighs 38.8 g: the added mass in the front part of the frame dampens slide vibrations and makes the return to battery more consistent. The manufacturer recommends pairing it with Toni System recoil springs, which must be purchased separately.
