Compatible for any weapon
Each Shooting Chrony® measures the velocity of bullets, arrows, rifle pellets, air rifle shells, dye cartridges, and more—from 30 to 7,000 feet per second, with better than 99.5% accuracy. The Chrony can be used anywhere. Simply unfold it, mount it on a tripod or table, insert diffusers (if needed), and shoot in less than 2 minutes.
TECHNICAL FEATURES:
- It provides the speed of the shots by indicating them in numbers on the display
- The speed remains displayed until the next shot
- Uses a 9 Volt alkaline battery with 48 hours of continuous use
- Switch between FPS (feet per second) and MPS (meters per second) units with a single tap.
- Calculate measurements and statistics such as: maximum, minimum and average speed, extreme deviation and standard deviation
- Retrieve individual shot speed and statistics
- It has a memory for 32 shots
- Delete individual shots (with automatic stats adjustment)
- It comes with a stereo plug for an optional Ballistic Chrony printer or remote control
- Accept the Timer mode option
The Chrony reads velocities in feet per second (fps) or meters per second (mps) and operates in a velocity range from 30 fps to 7000 fps (10 mps to 2134 mps).
Operating Temperature Range: 32° Fahrenheit to 110° Fahrenheit (0° Celsius to 43° Celsius), non-condensing (Ambient temperature must be above dew point and must not drop below dew point while using the Chrony).
Storage Temperature Range: 14° Fahrenheit to 120° Fahrenheit (-10° Celsius to 50° Celsius) non-condensing (Ambient temperature must be above dew point and must not fall below dew point where the Chrony is stored unless the Chrony is sealed in a waterproof container.)
Accuracy: 99.5% or better.
The displayed speed does not differ from the actual speed by more than 1 in 200, i.e., ±10 fps with a speed reading of 2000 fps.
Normal operation is usually better, and shot-to-shot repeatability is generally more accurate, i.e., the reported instrument mean velocity may differ from the true instrument mean velocity by up to 0.5%, but the standard deviation calculated from data collected with a Chrony is always closer than 0.5% of the true standard deviation for a given string.
This fact is important because an accurate measurement of the uniformity of a charge is much more significant than an exact measurement of its average velocity.
