Leupold BackCountry Cross-Slot one-piece base with 20 MOA cant, dedicated to the Remington 700 short action receiver and designed for 8-40 screws. It combines a cross-slot profile compatible with Weaver and Picatinny rings with the typical lightweight design of the BackCountry series.

The body is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and weighs 1.75 ounces, approximately 50 grams: the weight savings compared to a steel base is noticeable on a rifle carried for long periods. The 20 MOA cant restores the elevation travel needed for long-range shooting, which would otherwise be largely consumed during zeroing. The 8-40 screws, with a larger diameter than traditional 6-48 screws, withstand higher torque and stress and are included; the recommended torque is 22 in-lbs.
