Lee Precision Universal Shell Holder #2

The universal #2 shell holder is the component that holds the cartridge case head in the ram head during resizing, decapping, and priming operations on a press. It is the first component to pair with your die set when you start reloading a new caliber, as it determines which cartridges the press can process.

Lee Precision manufactures universal shell holders from steel and states they are compatible with most brands of reloading presses, not just Lee. The numbering system groups cartridges by case head diameter: a single shell holder therefore covers an entire family of calibers, even those that vary significantly in length and intended use. In Lee's charts, when two numbers are listed for a cartridge, the first is the preferred choice.

Recommended use

It mounts into the ram head of reloading presses that use the universal shell holder standard. It is not interchangeable with Lee hand priming tool shell holders nor with the X-Press series for the APP press, which, despite having the same numbering, have different attachments.
