The New Auto Prime Kit brings together the Lee Auto-Prime hand priming tool, its shell holders, and a carrying case. Hand priming allows you to directly feel the resistance of the primer seating, a level of control that is lost on a press and which many reloaders prefer for precision ammunition.

The tool comes with small and large priming assemblies, covering both primer sizes without the need for additional purchases, as well as a folding tray for loading primers. The kit includes eight shell holders (numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, and 19) that cover over 130 of the most common cartridges; the case has slots for ten more shell holders, allowing you to complete your set over time. Lee advises that Federal brand large primers must be fed one at a time and not loaded into the tray.

Recommended use

Suitable for hand priming pistol and rifle cartridges with small or large primers. Uses Lee hand priming shell holders, which are a different series from universal press shell holders. For Federal large primers, Lee recommends single-feeding instead of loading them into the tray.
