The Hornady 390222 decapping pin is the large headed decapping pin for Hornady Custom Grade New Dimension and Match Grade dies. It is the spare part that ejects the spent primer during case resizing and, being the component most prone to breakage, it is useful to always have a spare on hand.

The Hornady headed decap pin system allows for replacing only the pin in case of breakage, without changing the decapping rod: the pin is held in place by a decap pin retainer and is removed quickly. Hornady cites the replaceable headed decapping pin as an exclusive feature of their dies, which is also present on Match Grade models.
