The Leupold two-piece QRW bases are the interface between the Remington 700 receiver and the rings that hold the scope: they define the position, height, and alignment of the optic, upon which zero retention under recoil and correct eye relief depend. The two-piece solution leaves the ejection port clear and reduces weight and bulk compared to a continuous rail. The silver finish is designed to match stainless steel and light-colored components.

QRW bases feature a cross-slot profile, meaning they provide a Weaver-style cross-slot that is also compatible with Picatinny rings. When paired with Leupold QRW2 rings, they provide the quick-detach capability of the QR system, with a return-to-zero within the manufacturer-stated ±1/4 MOA; with PRW2 rings, the mounting becomes fixed instead. Construction is steel. Leupold specifies a torque setting of 22 in-lb for the base/receiver screws.
