The Leupold Mark 4 one-piece base for Winchester 70 short action is a tactical steel mount with a Weaver/Picatinny-style cross-slot profile. The single-piece body stiffens the connection between the receiver and the scope and eliminates the need for alignment between two separate components.

Mark 4 bases are made of steel with a Weaver/Picatinny-style cross-slot profile and are designed to allow for the upgrade to 8-40 screws, which are more robust than the standard 6-48, when the action is already tapped or is being re-tapped. Leupold specifies torque settings of 22 in-lb for 6-48 screws and 28 in-lb for 8-40 screws.
