How to choose a GPO riflescope

Start from the intended use. For driven hunts and short-range shots, a low minimum magnification with a wide field of view is preferable, as in the 1-6x24i and 1-8x24i models; for stand hunting and long-range shooting, higher maximum magnification and 50 or 56 mm objectives are more suitable.

In the Spectra series the number after the name indicates the zoom factor: a Spectra 6x 1-6x24i goes from 1 to 6 power, a Spectra 8x 2-16x50i from 2 to 16. The letter "i" in the designation identifies models with an illuminated reticle. Also check the reticle (for example G4i, G4i Fiber, G4i Drop, BRi, BRWi, PLRi, LR Pro or MOAi), the focal plane (SFP or FFP), the tube diameter and the integrated rail on Rail versions.

Main GPO families

Depending on availability, the selection may include Spectra 4x (4-16x50i, 2.5-10x44i), Spectra 5x (3-15x56i), Spectra 6x (from 1-6x24i to 4.5-27x50i, including new-generation models), Spectra 8x (1-8x24i, 1.6-13x44i, 2-16x50i, 2.5-20x50i), Passion 3x (3-9x42, 4-12x42, 4-12x50i) riflescopes and the GPOTAC 6x 1-6x24i with HSi FFP reticle. The series designation does not replace checking the specifications of the individual model.

Spectra Dot red dots

The Spectra Dot 1x22 and the Spectra Pistol Dot have a 3 MOA dot. Before purchasing, check mounting footprint, any plate required, height and compatibility with the firearm.

Passion and Rangeguide binoculars

Passion binoculars are available in the SD series (compact 26 and 34 mm formats and 42 mm), ED series (32, 42 and 56 mm, also in several colours) and HD series (42 and 50 mm). Rangeguide 2800, 3000, 3200 and 3400 integrate a laser rangefinder into the binocular: compare stated range, measurement modes and format.

Rangefinders, spotting scopes and monoculars

The range includes the RangeTracker 1800 and 2000 OLED 6x20 rangefinders, the Passion 16-48x65 APO and 20-60x85 APO spotting scopes, the TAC Spotter 15-45x60 FFP with PLR reticle, the Passion Mono 10x36 monocular and the TAC Mono 10x42 HD with MRAD reticle.

Mounting and accessories

The ring diameter must exactly match the riflescope tube; Rail versions instead require mounts compatible with the integrated rail. Also check mounting height, space for objective bell and eyepiece and correct eye relief. The GBT ballistic turret and sunshades must be chosen according to the model and objective diameter stated in the accessory page. For mounting, also see Rings, Bases and Rails.

GPO warranty

GPO provides manufacturer warranty terms that may vary depending on the series, the components (optical, mechanical or electronic) and the market of purchase. To know the actual coverage, always consult the official documentation supplied with the product.

Frequently asked questions about GPO products

Which GPO products are available?

The collection may include riflescopes, red dots, binoculars, rangefinding binoculars, rangefinders, spotting scopes, monoculars and accessories.

What do 4x, 5x, 6x and 8x mean on Spectra riflescopes?

They indicate the zoom factor, i.e. the ratio between maximum and minimum magnification: a Spectra 8x 1-8x24i goes from 1 to 8 power.

What is the difference between first and second focal plane?

In FFP models the reticle apparently changes together with magnification; in SFP models it keeps the same apparent size. The validity of subtensions depends on the model and magnification: always check the specific documentation.

Are rings included with the riflescope?

Not necessarily. Consider included only the accessories expressly stated in the product page.

Can I ask for assistance before purchasing?

Yes. Before contacting Planet Shooters, prepare the firearm model, intended use, approximate distance, rail type or mounting provision and MOA/MIL preference: this information allows a more precise check.
