With the Production Division on the rise and many shooters in this IPSC division choosing a closed-body Kydex holster (and all USPSA Production shooters are required to use one), creating a better Kydex holster is always at the top of our agenda. We believe in constantly striving to improve all of our products, and the new innovations in the PDR PRO-II holster reflect this philosophy.
We've taken a long look at our PDR PRO Holster and, combined with valuable customer feedback, we've decided to make some changes to further improve the product.
The first area of focus and improvement was the rail, the part that joins the belt clip ball joint and the holster body.
We've upgraded this part from plastic to aluminum and redesigned the height adjustment and vertical lock. The PDR PRO-II now has a set screw in the ball itself, accessible from the inside, allowing you to adjust the height to any position, not just in predefined 10mm increments as before. Additionally, you can now achieve this height adjustment without disassembling the holster and without losing any of the other settings.
The new rail attaches to the holster body more parallel to the pistol slide, which increases the usable adjustment range in the ball joint, allowing the pistol to be brought closer to the body than with the previous rail design.
The holster body has also undergone several improvements. The high internal flap that previously covered most pistol safety features has been lowered, allowing for a more complete in-holster shooting grip. The material has been made slightly thinner to improve grip and gun retention, and the tension spacers have been modified and improved. The slot at the front of the holster has been further lowered, facilitating faster holster removal.
And of course, the excellent features of the PDR PRO line have been retained: the smooth, unlined body, the advanced ball-joint belt clip with its wide range of adjustment, slim-line retention bars and spacers for use on competition belts 1.5"-2.0" in width.
